Nordic Modern
PKA Architecture · Warroad, MN
Overview
This new modern home is on a river in a remote northern landscape. The homeowners envisioned a warm, Nordic-inspired modern home that would reflect their family's lifestyle.
Taking inspiration from Scandinavian rural vernacular architecture, the design team responded to the design goals and the wooded site with a simple yet sophisticated structure clad in vertical gray and white siding, with large modern windows and doors, a gray metal roof and a sky blue front door.
