Overview
The St. James is a five-story, four-unit condominium located on a narrow site in Lincoln Park which was initially thought to be undevelopable because it lacks an alley, requiring all access to be from the 33' of street frontage.
The design places core elements to the west, allowing for park-like views and large inset balconies along the east, with a facade consisting of monumental, punched openings with a repeating pattern of square grids.
