Overview
Des Moines University’s Pond Shelter creates a welcoming campus landmark that connects people to the surrounding landscape.
Repeating structural frames, reclaimed wood canopy elements, integrated seating, and carefully coordinated lighting give the shelter a light, dynamic character while framing views toward the pond. Designed as both a waypoint and gathering place, the shelter balances shade, openness, sustainability, and craftsmanship to create a flexible destination for reflection, connection, and campus life.
