Overview
United Yards 1A is a catalyst for reinvestment in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, delivering 45 apartments of 100 percent affordable housing within a mixed-use, majority-electric development along historic 47th Street.
The project combines family housing, community-focused commercial space, and an enhanced streetscape. Terraced massing and a sculpted façade connect the public realm to an elevated community terrace, while earth-toned masonry and textured metal panels reinterpret the neighborhood’s historic architectural and industrial character.
