Questions
Who can post a job?
Any architecture, engineering, design or construction firm hiring for a real position. ALA members post free, up to 10 openings at a time, each live for 90 days. Everyone else pays $200 for a 60-day posting, by card.
Why does every posting show pay and benefits?
Illinois law requires a good-faith pay range and a description of benefits in job postings, and candidates want to see them before they apply. Every posting on the ALA board carries both.
Who reviews the postings?
ALA staff approve each posting before it goes live, usually within one business day, and take down anything that is not a genuine opening at a real firm.
How do members list themselves as open to work?
Members sign in and add a short listing: level, discipline, region and what they are looking for. It shows no name, email or firm, and can be hidden from their own firm. When another member wants to talk, ALA passes the note along and the member decides whether to answer.
